Although this graphic novel is for kids I still think adults can enjoy it too. The illustrations albeit simple are still expressive and the kitty is full of character. The use of a limited colour palette helps to make sure the focus is on the story and also the plain white background makes the characters stand out more. Pien uses watercolour which is a style I tried out for my own book. 'Long Tail Kitty (Blue Apple Books, 2009) is an all-ages collection of stories about the titular long-tailed kitty and his friends. He encounters a grumpy bee in a field of flowers and a mouse skating on a frozen pond.
